There may be a reason for this fog,
I caught me holding my breath to long.
Not much oxygen is getting upstairs,
When I stop breathing to hold back tears.

When a normal person stumps their toe,
They hold their breath to soften the blow.
But I catch myself with cheeks puffed out,
‘Breathe silly breathe!’ my insides shout.

Not enough O2 is getting to my head,
When I’m holding my breath instead.
Thinking thoughts that shouldn’t be thunk,
Fog got thick before I knew damage was done.
