It’s ok to be happy while I’m in pain,
It’s my best disguise to hide the RA.
I may not have happy feet,
Happy hands or happy knees,
But there is a happy plan in me.

I keep a list of grateful things,
Envisioning the treats life brings.
I try to take kindness a bit too far,
And write down life’s joys to keep in a jar.
My happiness is ‘all’ I can control,
Since rheumatoid arthritis
Tries to suck out my soul.
