Smiles, attitudes and yawns inevitably spread,
Some contagious things we don’t dread.
‘If’ inflammatory diseases
were suddenly infectious,
Oh what a difference –
if they were contagious!
Funding for research and for cures
Our future without pain could be secured.
Doctors and scientist would hurry things up,
To fix us ALL before an epidemic struck.
We’d be quarantined to some tropical island.
And they’d call it good, so we’d be silent.
