Plagued with an invisible illness,
One with chronic pain,
To others we look just fine
As if we ‘like’ to complain.
We’re often labeled wrongly,
No one understands,
Why it takes all our energy,
To complete each day’s demands.
The insensitive, misinformed, judgmental
Folks with mouths wide open,
Do not fully realize the hurt,
From words they have spoken.
I’m not lazy – I’m in pain.
I do not want your pity.
Possibly you’d understand
If I ‘looked’ like I felt shitty.
