According to MedPage Today, researchers at Toronto Western Hospital have found typical cardiovascular (CV) risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes, and elevated disease activity help explain the increased incidence of CV events (e.g., heart attack, stroke, etc.) in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Investigators note the study results emphasize the importance of screening and better controlling these risk factors to reduce the potential of CV events.
