Overall mortality rates for “exposed” children (those with a mother or father who has rheumatoid arthritis) after respiratory or infections diseases are similar to mortality rates for children who don’t have a parent with RA, according to a new Danish study. “These new findings will allow us to offer reassurance to our RA patients with regard to the potential effects in their children,” Jennifer Murphy, MD, of Low Country Rheumatologists in North Charleston, S.C., told MedPage Today.
