In the late ’70s, I ate about a quarter of an Alice B. Toklas brownie [“I took one bite of that chocolate. Pretty soon I felt odd,” Jan. 13]. My husband came home from the office to find all the burners on the stove set on high because I thought I’d make coffee. It took me more than two days to return to normal. It was a frightening episode and gave me a healthy respect for marijuana’s potency.
