Young:  “Well, Women are simply not small men when it comes to pain”

Dr. Mark Young is a pain, physical medicine and rehabilitation physician and oversees the Oasis Center for Natural Pain Management in Maryland. He is the author of “Women and Pain: Why It Hurts and What You Can Do.”

Young:  “Women experience pain in vastly different ways than do men. Women have different architecture, they have different hormones, they have a different genetic constitution and it’s important that all doctors recognize the uniqueness of women”

Dr. Young says Fibromyalgia is a perfect example of a condition that has been dismissed as being something psychological, when it is very physical and very painful.
