Shelley F. began teaching elementary children in 1993 and received her Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2004. Shelley currently works full-time with a large urban school district in the Tampa Bay area providing professional development to teachers. After many years of symptoms, Shelley was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Celiac Disease at the age of 42. She has found the most success with her current biologic along with a combination of medicines, diet, and exercise. Staying involved in projects year-round at work, with arthritis advocacy, and raising two teenagers are key elements to staying focused on feeling better. Shelley is a huge fan of her two cats, her dog, baseball, playing piano, and writing a young adult novel to be published one day.
