Well, according to this so-called “MRI” (which doesn’t touch you, so I’m skeptical how it can be so accurate!), I need surgery on my foot. It’s not pressing surgery, but there has been clear degeneration of the bone (I’m bringing osteoarthritis back into vogue) and if the orthotics, or “dancing pads” don’t work, the knife is the next option.
The problem that I am already anticipating, is finding a surgeon that both my mother and I like. No easy task in the small town known as Manhattan, New York.
Which kind of stinks. But I’m not letting it get me down just yet. Frankly, I could use a few weeks off my feet, and since it hurts to walk now, anything will be better than this.

Navigating the correct insurance channels, reimbursement rules, and in-and-out-of-network doctors will be the fun part. Not having pain when I walk will be the collateral benefit.
Mother, if you’re reading this, I’m on top of it!!!
