“Music is the medicine of the mind.” – John Logan

I love the truth in this quote. Especially for those of us battling an illness or disease. A clear, healthy, and strong mind is essential for a healthy, strong body. Living with chronic illness requires mind and body to work in unison.

The body feels what the mind thinks – for example, when I’m stressed out I will experience flares. I bet you can relate, right? We take all kinds of medicine to help our bodies feel better – but what about our minds?

What it boils down to for me, is music – music when I’m training, driving to/from work, walking my dogs, blogging, stretching, etc. It’s more than just music, isn’t it? It’s healing us from the inside out, relaxing our bodies, cleansing our souls, refreshing our thoughts, clearing our minds, and replenishing our strength.

In light of the New Year, I’d like to share with you my favorite songs of 2014 – songs that make me feel something…strength, happiness, calm, hope, courage, joy, wholeness, faith, bravery, inspiration, gratitude, centered, love and much more.

I hope you find the same from this playlist – here’s to a New Year, and to the best kind of medicine…music!
