Lately I have had all kinds of problems with my ankles and feet. The ball of the foot, the heel, the ankle. It’s as though the problems and pain oscillate like a 1950’s stainless steel fan. Clicking, clanking and crying out for attention.
What I can’t seem to figure out is what’s causing it, why it hurts so much, and, perhaps most importantly, how come I’ve never appreciated my otherwise well-behaved feet. It’s true what they say about keeping soldiers’ socks clean in the field – you could easily paralyze an army by messing up their feet.
For now this (arthritis) soldier is down and out on account of the pain in the foot. Which is currently more of a pain in the ass, technically.
